RADIO - IPAD EDITION CLIMBS TO #4 IN MUSIC DURING EASTER PROMOTION

Intersect World LLC today announced the results of the Easter Promotion of Radio - iPad Edition. For two days Radio - iPad Edition was available for free and reached the #4 spot in the Music Category. Over 25,000 apps were downloaded. "The promotion will quickly broaden the number of users using Skyhook Local Faves functionality," said Marco Papa, principal of Intersect World LLC. "We were fortunate that appreviews published our promotion. We got a nice "bump" in sales after the promotions ended and a lot of good will, too. We will follow this promotion with additional ones for the rest of the iPad editions, as the Local faves features are released later this week."

SPORTS RADIO - IPAD EDITION RELEASED, CLIMBS TO #3 IN SPORTS

RADIO - IPAD EDITION RELEASED, CLIMBS TO #3 IN MUSIC

RADIO 4.4 BACK ON OVERALL TOP 200 AFTER 2 MILLION DOWNLOADS

Radio 4.4 was released on Wednesday and took the market like a storm. Radio 4.4 surged to #6 in the Music category and leaped back into the OVERALL TOP 100 at position 161. "When Radio shipped two years ago it reached #51 in the OVERALL TOP 100 chart. Back then there were less than 10,000 apps in the App Store. Reaching #161, as it did today, when there are over 250,000 apps in the App Store is a magnificent feat for our leading product," said Marco Papa, principal of Intersect World LLC. MYSPACE SUPPORT NOW AVAILABLE

The entire family of Radio apps is being revamped with the addition of support for postings to user's MySpace streams, a first for Internet radio apps on the iPhone. This is in addition to the current support for Facebook and Twitter. The version number for the free updates is 3.5.

RADIO LITE 3.4 SHIPS: 200,000 DOWNLOADS IN 24 HOURS

Radio Lite 3.4 became available on the App Store today and was downloaded over 200,000 times. Radio Lite includes the SHOUTcast, Icecast and iTunes Radio directories and allows In App Purchase of a full upgrade to Radio 3.4, including an additional 30,000 Internet radio stations.

RADIO 3.0 SHIPS 80,000 UPGRADES IN FIRST TWO DAYS

Radio 3.0 became available on the App Store on December 7 and shipped over 80,000 upgrades to current users. "We are very satisfied with our current customer response to this major upgrade," said Marco Papa, principal of Intersect World LLC. "The reviews in the App Store have been outstanding: all 4 and 5 stars. User clearly love the new features: background play especially, concurrent e-mail and station web site browsing, and updates to our social collaboration using Facebook and Twitter." 

Radio surpassed Wunderadio in daily sales (it is now at #14) and it fast approaching the leader, Pocket Tunes Radio, currently at #11 in the App Store Music category.

RADIO APP FAMILY REACHES GOAL OF 600,000 DOWNLOADS IN 8 MONTHS

The combined family of "Radio" products for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch reached a milestone of 600,000 downloads in just 8 months, announced Intersect World LLC founder Marco Papa. MACWORLD REVIEWS SPORTS RADIO: RATES IT 3.5/5

Macworld Magazine editor Brendan Wilhide reviews Sports Radio in the August edition of macworld.com's AppGuide. These are some quotes from the article:

INTERSECTWORLD.NET REACHES 540,000 MONTHLY VISITORS

Statistics for the month of May were released today for the traffic of intersectworld.net, the hosting site of Radio directories of stations. The site reached 1,436,000 page views and 540,000 unique visitors. Overall the iTunes radio stations were still the most popular, with ListenLive.eu and ScanAmerica trailing next. User Favorites again placed third overall.

The new products (Public Radio, Scanner Radio(TM) and Weather Radio) were released too late in the month to provide much additional traffic.


Analytics from Pinch Media provided good insight about the behavior of Radio users. During the month of May, 60,467 users run the application, with a daily average of 4,909 users. The daily time spent by users listening to their favorite station was 55 minutes, with an average session of 30 minutes. On the average, 1,086 new users started using the Radio app each day of the month.

"These numbers  continue to be much better than the average App Store application, that is used just a couple of times after purchase and download and then never used again," said Marco Papa, principal at Intersect World LLC. "Month after month, we are retaining the majority of our customers over a long period of time."

RADIO 1.5 AND SCANNER RADIO(TM) ARE RELEASED

Today Intersect World LLC released Radio 1.5, with support for Canadian radio stations and minor fixes and enhancements. EURO RADIO, WEATHER RADIO AND PUBLIC RADIO AVAILABLE IN THE APP STORE

Today Intersect World LLC released three new products of the "Radio" family: Euro Radio, Weather Radio, and Public Radio. These three products "unbundle" the corresponding directories from the Radio product, at a lower price point, making the audio streams more affordable for users with specific requirements. CYBERFM IS FIRST FEATURED STATION ON RADIO

Today CyberFM became the first station to receive "premium" status on Radio's directories list.

Statistics for the month of April were released today for the traffic of intersectworld.net, the hosting site of Radio directories of stations. The site reached 1,360,000 page views and 490,000 unique visitors. Overall the iTunes radio stations were still the most popular, with ListenLive.eu and ScanAmerica trailing next. The introduction of the User Favorites directory was highly received, placing third overall.


Analytics from Pinch Media provided good insight about the behavior of Radio users. During the month of April, 58,507 users run the application, with a daily average of 4,870 users. The daily time spent by users listening to their favorite station was 52 minutes, with an average session of 28 minutes. On the average, 1,310 new users started using the Radio app each day of the month.

RADIO 1.4 RELEASED

Today Intersect World LLC released Radio 1.4, with client support for both Facebook and Twitter. RADIO BACK ON TOP 100 PAID APPS

This week Intersect World LLC released Radio 1.3 and re-entered the TOP 100 Paid Apps list at #74 on the iTunes App Store and is now #3 in the Music category. Radio 1.3 adds a "User Favorites" selection of stations, produced by actual usage logs from Pinch Media. Radio 1.0 was in the Top 100 paid Apps for the first 5 weeks from its release, and reached as high as #53. "The return to the Top 100 Paid Apps list is even more important as the number of applications in the App Store has reached over 25,000", said Marco Papa, principal at Intersect World LLC, "This is further demonstration that the policy of continuously updating the application is having an effect on sales."

INTERSECTWORLD.NET REACHES GOAL OF 290,000 MONTHLY VISITORS

Statistics for the month of February were released today for the traffic of intersectworld.net, the hosting site of Radio 1.2 directories of radio stations. The site reached 837,000 page views and 290,000 unique visitors. Overall the iTunes Radio stations were still the most popular, with ListenLive.eu and ScanAmerica trailing next. The largest increase from the previous month was attained by the Public Radio directory, which was added in mid-February

RADIO TOP STORY IN USC DAILY TROJAN

Today the Daily Trojan, the official newspaper of the University of Southern California, featured Radio as the Top Story in a half page article titles "USC-developed iPhone app tops iTunes store chart," with the subtitle "The application has been purchased approximately 48,000 times and draws about 12,000 worldwide users."  "I am really happy that the team that developed Radio 1.0 is now being publicly recognized," said Marco Papa, principal at Intersect World, LLC. Raed Shomali, and Chaitanya Ramavajjala, graduate students majoring in computer science, and Jin Pei Li, a graduate student majoring in electrical engineering, collaborated with Papa to put the application together. RADIO 1.1 ADDS OVER 100  NEW STREAMS FROM AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Today Intersect World LLC has updated Radio 1.1 for the iPhone to include over 100 streams from   AustralianLiveRadio.com and NZ radio Guide. "Since Australia and New Zealand are our largest markets after the US in terms of overall sales, we felt we had to do something more for our customers down under," said Marco Papa, principal at Intersect World, LLC. RADIO 1.1 ADDS OVER 1700  NEW STREAMS FROM LISTENLIVE.EU

With the support of Mike Dean, the developer of the listenlive.eu database of European radio stations streaming live on the internet, Intersect World LLC has updated Radio 1.1 for the iPhone to include over 1,700 new MP3 radio streams. "I've been able to try out the application on an iPod Touch and I must say it works very well," says Mike Dean. All Radio 1.0 and 1.1 users can immediately access the new database of stations. RADIO 1.1 IS NOW LISTING SCANAMERICA.US STREAMS

Today, users of Radio 1.1 for the iPhone application were given access to the 560+ MP3 "emergency" streams managed by ScanAmerica.us. "Given the Radio 1.1 extensible architecture, we were able to add the new directory by simply adding appropriate code to our servers.", said Marco Papa, principal at Intersect World, LLC. "Thanks to the fabulous collaboration provided by Gordon of ScanAmerica.us, we were able to code the server changes in just 3 days". No changes are needed to the Radio 1.1 application to receive the new directory. Intersect World LLC plans to add additional directories in the future.

RADIO 1.1 IS NOW SHIPPING FROM APP STORE

Radio 1.1 for the iPhone started shipping today from the App Store. Radio 1.1 is a free upgrade for Radio 1.0 and still sells for $0.99 US.

Radio 1.1 adds enhancements for iPhone OS 2.2, including management of screen lock, and interruptions from phone calls, text messages, alarms, etc.

RADIO 1.0 SHOOTS UP TO # 75 ON APPSHOPPER TOP 100 (PAID)

Radio 1.0 for the iPhone, available from the App Store, shoot up to # 75 on the AppShopper Top 100 (Paid) list after only two days of sales.

Radio 1.0 is now the Top 5 application in the App Store Music Category, and the Top 3 "radio"  application on the iPhone App Store, behind such juggernauts as AOL Radio (at #1) and Pandora Radio (at #2).

INTERSECT WORLD LLC ANNOUNCES FORTHCOMING RADIO 1.1 UPDATE

The Radio 1.1 FREE update has been submitted to Apple for approval. This update includes minor fixes and enhancements for iPhone OS 2.2 users:

- Radio will continue to play the audio stream when the screen is locked.
- Radio will suspend when interrupted (by a phone call, for example).
- If the interruption is dismissed, Radio will automatically resume playing the interrupted audio stream (if you dismiss  an incoming call, for example).
- If the interruption is accepted, Radio will restart from the "Directories" screen when the interruption finishes (if you hang up a call, for example).

All Radio 1.0 users will be automatically notified of the update, once it is available, through the iPhone or iPod Touch App Store application.
